I talked with fellow photog and Hessler Street Fair fixture, Jay Levan at this year’s street party.

The Cleveland springtime tradition started in the 60′s as a way to help maintain the housing along the street in the heart of Case Western Reserve University and University Circle.  The fair today still raises funds to help maintain the neighborhood and host a collection of artisan crafts, food and of course music.

I have no idea how long Jay has been a part of, or attending the fair, but his portraits from the fair have captured many of Hessler revilers that the fair has become famous for.
